The Innovative Vehicle Institute (IVI) is an innovation and applied research center that operates as a non-profit organization. Affiliated with the Cégep de Saint-Jérôme, it is also accredited as a research center by NSERC. Its mission is to support businesses and organizations through their various projects for the design and integration of innovative technologies applied to vehicles, thus helping businesses and organizations innovate and grow. The IVI's goal is to have positive economic and social benefits. Being affiliated with a CEGEP, the organization is keen to share its expertise and knowledge in autonomous, electric, and connected vehicles.

A little more about the IVI

The organization has around forty employees, ranging from technical teams to administration, divided into 4 groups: the Software group focuses on automation, robotization and artificial intelligence applied to vehicles the Mechanical group , on the design and integration of electric vehicles; the Electrical group focuses on vehicle electrification technologies and finally the Technological Applications group supports companies in the deployment of their new technologies.

The IVI has 20 years of experience, with 500 clients for more than 120, ranging from SMEs to multinationals. With its specialized, state-of-the-art infrastructure, the IVI designs prototypes for autonomous, electric, and connected vehicles. From preliminary design to controlled testing, the IVI refines its clients' prototypes so that they can be put into production by companies after design. The Institute was also awarded the Innovation Engineering Prize in 2016 !

IVI's field of activity impacts its IT needs. Indeed, being in the innovation environment, the organization handles important and confidential documents, sometimes even valuable, on a daily basis.
