Windows 11: 5 questions you may be asking yourself

Microsoft's latest operating system is starting to get some buzz. But before you take the plunge and upgrade to the new OS, we encourage you to read the following.
It's finally here. After six years, Microsoft has just released the latest version of its operating system – Windows 11.
At a time when computers and technology are playing an increasingly central role in our lives, tech companies are striving to deliver the best possible user experience to capture an ever-expanding market.
In response to the growing demand for better technology for both individuals and businesses, Microsoft has released Windows 11.
Microsoft is touting its latest operating system as "the Windows that brings you closer to what you love." But can they really achieve this goal?
We know you have plenty of other questions about Microsoft's latest operating system, so without further ado, we're going to answer the five biggest questions you have about Windows 11.
The 5 Big Questions About Windows 11
Question 1: What are the differences between Windows 10 and Windows 11?
Windows 11 boasts significant improvements in performance, features, and style over Windows 10. Here's a quick rundown of the key updates Microsoft has made to its latest operating system:
- Windows gets a makeover : If you've ever used Apple, you might see the similarities between the design of macOS and the latest Windows model. Windows now sports carefully rounded corners, and taskbar icons are permanently centered. But at least the ever-useful Start button is here to stay.
- Improved productivity features : Microsoft has made many small but significant improvements to Windows 11. For example, your PC will now remember the last layout you used when docking. Each of your virtual desktops can also have a different background. Additionally, widgets are back like never before. Finally, Windows 11 offers an Instant Layout feature that allows users to choose from a variety of layout options with a single click.
- New and improved Teams : With hybrid work becoming the new normal worldwide, Teams has entered the spotlight. For this reason, Microsoft has made sure to include adequate upgrades to the application. For example, Teams is now integrated into the operating system, making it easier to communicate with family, friends, and colleagues.
- A better gaming experience : Microsoft made sure to think about more than just professionals when designing the new Windows 11. Gamers will love playing on Windows, thanks to support for Xbox Game Pass and Cloud Gaming in the Xbox app in Windows 11.
- Android apps on your PC : In addition to offering better compatibility with the Xbox, Microsoft has managed to bring Android apps to your PC with Windows 11. But there's a catch: We're not yet sure if these Android apps will work optimally on PC.
Question 2: Do I need to upgrade my hardware to upgrade to Windows 11?
It depends. Here's a list of things you need to upgrade to Windows 11 smoothly:
- A dual-core processor of at least 1GHZ 4 GB of RAM
- At least 64 GB of storage
- A graphics card compatible with DirectX 12 and newer
- TPM version 2.0
- A computer with UEFI hardware boot
If your PC or laptop meets or exceeds the requirements listed above, you can upgrade to Windows 11 without any hassle.
However, you may need to upgrade your hardware or buy a new device if yours doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
Question 3: Is Microsoft 365 included with Windows 11?

No. You first need to pay for a Microsoft Office subscription.
But if you already have a Microsoft 365 subscription, you're all set. You just need to install the Office suite after upgrading to Windows 11.
Please note that support for older versions of Office (2010 and earlier) has been discontinued since last year. If you're still using it, we suggest making the necessary changes to avoid exposing yourself to security risks.
Question 4: How to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11?
If you're looking to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11, don't worry. Just go to the Windows Update section of your settings and click "Check for updates." Windows 11 will be right there, available in the updates section.
Click the "Download and install" button, and you're done.
Question 5: Do I really need to upgrade to Windows 11?
No. If your computer isn't compatible or can't run Windows 11, you don't need to upgrade. However, if your computer is compatible with Windows 11 but you find the upgrades unnecessary for your current workflow, there's nothing wrong with staying on Windows 10.
Even Microsoft has stated that Windows 10 remains the right choice for those who aren't ready to upgrade to a new operating system. In fact, it made sure of this by scheduling a Windows 10 update later this year. Meanwhile, the company will continue to support Windows 10 until October 14, 2025.
That gives you about four years to consider upgrading to Windows 11 or switching operating systems.
A Technology That Suits You
The new era of Windows has finally arrived. Microsoft has made a point of making its latest operating system appealing to both existing and new Windows users. And with these new updates, it's clear that the company has made an effort to identify and address its users' issues.
But despite these new features, there's one thing to understand: technology is just a tool used to increase our productivity and efficiency in our daily lives.
This means you don't need to upgrade to Windows 11 if you're not ready. Technology is only as effective as you use it. So, if you're already comfortable with Windows 10 and it's making you 100% productive, there's no point in upgrading.
